Amser Do Hong Linh (Cambridge 2023) excellent at the Hanoi Youth Swimming Championship year 2022
On the morning of October 15th, 2022, the Hanoi Youth Swimming Tournament 2022 was held at the Hanoi Youth Palace. At the contest were a large number of students from secondary schools, high schools, colleges and universities around Hanoi. Hanoi - Amsterdam High School board was very pleased to welcome the news that student Do Hong Linh (Cambridge 2023) had won a silver medal in the women's 50m breaststroke and a gold medal in the women's 100m breaststroke.
Following the annual tradition, the Hanoi Youth Palace developed a plan to organize the “Hanoi Youth Swimming Tournament 2022” to promote the sports movement and improve the public’s health as well as discovering and fostering talented individuals in different sports, especially young people in swimming. In addition to creating a helpful playground, promoting exchanges and assistance between all participating units and members, the contest also aims to effectively implement the goals set out by the government and Hanoi’s Committee on prevention of drowning among young people around the city of Hanoi.
The Organizing Committee settled on 04 categories for the contest, which are men’s and women’s 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke; 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle, divided into 03 age groups, namely 11 to 16 years old, 16 to 18 years old and over 18 years old. Athletes are allowed to pick a category suitable for their age and must be ensured absolute safety and provided with well-equipped facilities and a professional quality.
Hanoi - Amsterdam High School board is delighted and proud of Amser Do Hong Linh's (Cambridge 2023) silver medal in the women's 50m breaststroke and gold medal in women's 100m breaststroke categories. She is said to possess great affinity for sports, especially for swimming, and has participated and earned prizes in several competitions before. The excellent achievements she has achieved were owing to her relentless perseverance in training, high determination and her good physique. Other Amsers have also fervently taken part in the sports movement at this contest and considered it an opportunity to challenge themselves and learn from their peers, like Pham Ngoc Minh (Geography 2023) with 2 Bronze Medals.
