AMBASSADOR OF THE NETHERLANDS VISITS HANOI - AMSTERDAM HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE GIFTED

In the morning of June 5, 2023, Mr. Kees van Barr - Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam, visited Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and talked with administrators and teachers in the school's Education Council. With open hearts, the Ambassador and the teachers discussed the educational practices of the school as well as exchange programmes on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands.

The reception was formal but friendly, with the presence of Tran Thuy Duong, Secretary of the Party Committee - Headmistress of the School; Outstanding teacher and Vice Principal Bui Van Phuc, Vice Principal; and Duong Tu Anh - Vice Principal and teachers of the Foreign Language faculty.

During the meeting, Madame Tran Thuy Duong introduced the Ambassador to the teaching system of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. The school provides training by grade levels, namely a High School with 12 specialized majors and a Middle School with high quality classes. With a variety of majors and a team of experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated teachers, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School has become a dream and a springboard for generations of students to fly higher and achieve their ambitions.

Hanoi - Amsterdam's proud history is written not only by its impressive achievements in academic competitions at city, national, and international levels, but also by the noble values ​​that generations of Hanoi - Amsterdam teachers and students have joined hands to build. Besides a rich history in academics, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School also has a dynamic and creative environment where students can pursue their passions, develop morally, intellectually, and emotionally ​​when actively participating in clubs about fashion, art, astronomy, etc. as well as other interesting and useful extra-curricular activities.

When listening to Madame Tran Thuy Duong's account, Ambassador Kees van Barr demonstrated his interest in the school's training model and expressed his appreciation for the achievements that the teachers and students of Hanoi - Amsterdam have achieved.

To continue the meeting, Mr. Kees van Barr expressed his desire to rebuild a relationship with the school after an interruption by the Covid-19 pandemic. He also suggested organizing more exchange activities between the school and the Dutch Embassy, ​​as well as the capital Amsterdam and the Dutch people on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands (April 9, 1973 - April 9, 2023).

Madame Tran Thuy Duong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Headmistress of the school affirmed that there would be more exchange activities in the near future.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Kees van Barr took a commemorative photo with the school's administrators and teachers in a fun and intimate atmosphere.
