[MI12’23] Gratitude and Coming-of-age Ceremony: Sketch the garish painting of our youth together
During each passing summer, 12th-grade students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted would hold a series of events collectively known as Made in 12 made to pay their gratitude to their teachers and preserve the memories of their three years in Ams. This year, Made in 12 made a comeback themed “Ký họa” (Sketching) and successfully carried out the main event - Gratitude and Coming-of-age Ceremony on May 22nd, 2023 at the school’s Hall 700.
The program included two parts: the ceremonious and the festive part, the former to express gratitude to teachers and the school board while the latter was filled with meaningful art performances from guests and the students themselves.
The program commenced with the song “Hà Nội - Amsterdam Song’’ performed by 20-23 Amsers in their familiar uniforms. The song became a love letter that our 12th-grade students wish to send as a gift to their beloved school where they’ve studied over the past three years.

Afterwards, at the ceremony were speeches from School Board representatives and art performances to express gratitude to the teachers.

At the end of the ceremony, Ms. Trần Thùy Dương, Secretary of the Party Committee and the School Principal, sounded the drums, signaling the end of the three years at Ams, Following this moment, Mr. Bùi Văn Phúc - School Vice-principal read his own poem made for these now former Amsers.
For the festive part of the show, Made in 12 delivered a repertoire of exciting shows self-drafted by the students as well as songs performed by the guest singer Hoàng Dũng. These meaningful shows brought back everyone’s memories from their last three school years.

To end the Gratitude and Coming-of-age Ceremony, 2023 Amsers all brought their memories back with the song “Ký họa”.
Like in this year’s Made in 12 ‘s name, a student’s youth is like a sketch that has kept the fond memories and emotions intact against the test of time. Beyond this period, time may erode our once colorful emotions, but we hope that these sketches of our youth will be forever locked in our hearts.
