The 2023 - 2024 Back to school convocation marks the 38th historical milestone of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted with the participation of delegates, distinguished guests, parents, teachers and nearly 3000 students. At the ceremony, the images of Ao dai, brand new school uniforms with the national flags, and specialized classes’ flags in the hands of students left a lasting impression in the hearts of attendees.

Attending the opening ceremony of teachers and students was the presence of Comrade Central Committee Member, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh. Additionally, the School was also honored to welcome Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police; Representatives of leaders of departments of Cau Giay district, and diplomatic agencies.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam Kees van Baar was present at the ceremony.

Teachers and students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted were honored to receive fresh flower baskets from General To Lam and Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung and other educational agencies and organizations.

The program commenced with exciting musical performances prepared by the students with the message: "In Hanoi - Amsterdam, forever we trust."

The ‘Vietnam oi’ performance was carried out by members of Glee Ams Club, Ams Crew, and Cheer Ams

The song "Hello Vietnam" was performed by student Nguyen Ngoc Ha Chi and the dance group.

After enthralling musical performances, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted performed a solemn flag salutation ceremony, honoring two students with outstanding academic achievements and union work, who were honored to raise the flag in during the convocation.

6th graders attended the Back to school ceremony of their new school for the first time.

Following the first part of the program, distinguished Mr Bui Van Phuc, Vice Principal of the school, read the letter of congratulations for the new school year from President Vo Van Thuong.

After listening to the letter from the President, Ms Tran Thuy Duong, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Principal of the school gave a passionate speech to commence the new school year, expressing her determination to successfully complete the task of educating youths, worthy of the trust and love of the Party and nation in the coming school year.

Tran Ngoc Phuong Giang, class 12 English 2, Deputy Secretary of the School Youth Union, representing nearly 3,000 students, gave a welcome speech for the new school year.

Next, the whole school turned to the screen to watch videos introducing Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, presenting 38 years of history of being the pioneer of the capital's education sector.

Continuing the convocation, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted awarded students and teachers in charge of teams with outstanding achievements in the 2023 International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad, as well as the MICROSOFT IMAGINE CUP JUNIOR 2023 computer science competition.

At the end of the ceremony, the Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee presented flowers to Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and sounded the drum to commence the new school year.

Ending the convocation, delegates and distinguished guests along with school officials took commemorative photos at Uncle Ho's lobby, while students went to their classes to prepare for the Flag Release Festival - an event in the series of Ngay Hoi Anh Tai’s activities.

The students sang the song "Nhu co Bac Ho trong ngay vui dai thang"  in harmony to successfully end the Back to school convocation of the 2023 - 2024 school year.

In the new school year 2023 - 2024, teachers and students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted are determined to study well, practice diligently, and continue the tradition of excellent achievements of previous school years, in order to live up to the reputation of being the leading school of the capital's education sector.
