Students from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the gifted are known for their numerous excellent achievements in various sectors, and chess, a cognitive sport, is not an exception. This is the record of our conversation with Nguyen Hong Nhung, a freshman from class 10 Math 2; despite being quite young, she is an experienced player who has competed in 8 countries worldwide, as well as having received the first prize for U16 girls category, “2021 International Junior Chess Championship”.
On September 6, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted successfully held the Orientation Day for middle schoolers through online platforms. International Economics Olympiad (IEO) is an annual competition where high schoolers from many nations gather and compete in the interesting field of Economics. This year the competition was hosted by Latvia from 26 July till 1 August, and this is the first time the Vietnam team with 5 members participated. Vietnam has successfully won 2 Bronze Medals at this year’s competition, one of which is Do Hoang Minh’s, an Amser from the English 1 class of 18-21. The International Chemistry Olympiad 2021, hosted by Japan, was held in the form of an online competition from July 25 to August 2, 2021 with the participation of 79 countries and territories, in which students Nguyen Le Thao Anh and Nguyen Duy Anh, grade 12 of Chemistry 1, class 18-21 are 2 of the 3 candidates who have won the gold medal for the Vietnamese team. The National University Entrance Exam 2021 has ended, the results of which had just been announced on July 26.
