Completing the first semester of the school year 2021-2022, teachers and students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School are officially entering the second term and continuing to attend virtual lessons in the complicated context of Covid-19. For thousands of years, Vietnamese people are known as cordial and affable people with a warm heart for their community. Working based on the spirit of mutual affection, and the tradition “a full leaf makes up for a torn one”, youths from Hanoi-Amsterdam have been carrying out an array of practical, yet meaningful, activities. It is their desire, through these deeds, to promote sharing and to bring underprivileged children a fulfilled and heartwarming Tet season.
On the morning of 26/2/2022, via Zoom, the career orientation event “Know yourself to choose your career” was successfully carried out with the participation of two prestigious speakers: Dr Truong Thi Hoa (from Hanoi National University of Education) and Ms Pham Bich Ha (vice president of ICF Coach’s Human resources association of all 12th-graders from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and Phan Dinh Phung High School). The event had left a profound impact on the senior students in their path of researching and determining career directions, and at the same time raising awareness of their self-perception.
On January 28, 2022, the team participating in the Vietnam Science and Engineering Fair for high school students in the school year 2021-2022 was established with 4 award-winning projects in the City round. Among the 4 teams from Hanoi, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted is honored to have 2 teams participating, who are determined to come out on top.
With great efforts and achievements, Nguyen Mai Ngan (2004), a former student of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, has fulfilled her dream of studying in Canada.
In 2021, Vietnam’s team participated in the International Junior Science Olympiad and has secured for themselves 4 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals.
On January 15, 2022, on Zoom, grade 10 students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted had the opportunity to participate in a sex education class for adolescents with the participation of specialists from Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital and Hanoi Medical University. The program had approached a problem that was considered sensitive by many people in a fun and meaningful way, but also with useful information about gender and puberty psychophysiology.
Faced with hotly debated environmental problems, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School students had brought to us the Green Life 2022 event filled with meaningful activities aimed at protecting the green planet during January 16.
On 13 - 1, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training commended and rewarded students who won prizes in the international exam in 2021 - 2022. 39 outstanding students were honored to be present at the commendation ceremony.
