STUDENTS OF HANOI SPECIAL HIGH SCHOOL - AMSTERDAM ENTERED THE FINALE OF THE Vietnam Science and Engineering Fair 2021-2022

On January 28, 2022, the team participating in the Vietnam Science and Engineering Fair for high school students in the school year 2021-2022 was established with 4 award-winning projects in the City round. Among the 4 teams from Hanoi, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted is honored to have 2 teams participating, who are determined to come out on top.

Regarding the contest

The Vietnam Science and Engineering Fair, also known as VISEF, is a competition assessing contestants ability to do scientific research, honing techniques, technological knowledge of subjects to solve practical problems.

The contest also contributes to renewing teaching activities as to better develop students' learning capacity and improve the teaching quality in secondary education institutions.

VISEF spans across 22 fields, ranging from Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, Software to Social and Behavioral Sciences… The best teams in the national round will have the opportunity to participate in the international round. Intel-ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair) is organized by the Intel technology company in the US.

Remnants from the previous school year

In the 2020-2021 school year, the Hanoi selected team has achieved remarkable results in ISEF. The success couldn’t have been had without remarkable efforts of the team representing Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.

With the topic "Analyzing nutritional status and recommend eating regimes for children from 6-14 years old through the Caremeal software”, Do Gia Khanh (Computer Science 19-22) and Ngo Gia Bao (Math 19-22) secured the second prize in VISEF’s national round.

Extending the long list of achievements

Filling up another slot in the hall of fame, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted was extremely pleased to learn that 2/4 of the teams from Hanoi entered the national round of VISEF on January 28.

Students of the two teams include: Ngo Minh Quang (Computer Science 20-23) and Mai Khoi Nguyen (Computer Science 20-23) - Team 1; Do Minh Quan (Chemistry 21-24) and Nguyen Thien Luong (Computer Science 21-24) - Team 2.

For this year's competition, the two teams brought two products in the fields of Software System and Chemistry. Specifically, Team 1's was "Look&Tell application: Using AI to support communication among the Deaf" and Team 2's was "Strengthening photocatalytic activity to treat environmental pollution of g-C3N4 through surface plasmon resonance”.

Finally, on behalf of the school, Ams Wide Web’s reporter team would like to wish the two teams good luck on their journey to perfect their skills, boost their self-confidence, as well as conquer in the national round of VISEF to bring home great achievements for Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted!
