The Eloquent is an exchange competition about English debates for 8th graders years 2021-2022 hosted by the Foreign Languages board in conjunction with HCM Young Pioneer Organization of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School. The contest was held from 4/3 - 23/3 with the theme “In Time of Crisis - Paths to Wellness”. Throughout the competition, 8th graders got the chance to learn a plethora of useful debating skills as well as practical knowledge about everyday life around the globe in harsh times of the pandemic.
On the morning of April 13, the Executive Board of the school’s Youth Union organized an official Orientation Day for 10th-graders after more than 7 months of learning online. Despite having occurred on an unprecedented date, the event still drew an enthusiastic response from the new Amsers 21-24.
In the morning of the 9th of April, at the 200 ballroom, our 6th graders excitedly and enthusiastically participated in Orientation Day with the theme “Hanoi - Amster, our pride”. Following the long period of home-based learning, Orientation day is an event organised annually to welcome new Amsers, with a view to helping to have a closer look at the school’s tradition, and also to familiarising themselves with the environment that they would be a part of for the next four years.

As a project realised by Nguyen Hoang Dam Thuyen — a student of class 11 Math 1 (20-23), the “green library” has now become an ideal destination for students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted to visit after stressful school hours.
While everyone’s endeavouring to implement the resolutions of the Party conference and celebrating multiple national holidays, the Union of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted held the Admission Ceremony of new Union members and the Congress of the Youth Union during the last week.
In the cool and revitalizing weather of late Spring, students from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted were “back to school”, commencing face-to-face studying; joy, excitement, celebration, all hung thick in the atmosphere. Under the guidance of the Standing Board of the school Youth Union, all classes organized riveting activities with the theme “Month of the Youth”. The programme included intriguing and outstanding content with a view to improving the students’ knowledge, while propelling their initiative and creativity.
The 4th "Students with Start-up Ideas" competition was launched by the Ministry of Education and Training since July 2021 for students attending universities, education colleges and middle and high school students nationwide. With nearly 400 selected projects participating, 70 projects made it to the finals. In particular, the "Signtegrate" project, a solution to support communication for the hearing impaired in Vietnam by two Amser Nguyen Tai Minh and Pham Ninh Giang (class 11 Math 2) won the national second prize. On March 26, 2022, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the results of the National contest for gifted students 2021 - 2022 with more than 2,300 students from high schools across the country winning prizes. Hanoi is the leading region in the country with a total of 125 prize winners. Among them, it is impossible not to mention the students who, despite competing with seniors, have excellently secured major prizes. Therefore, we decided to interview one of them today, that being Ngo Huy Dang Khoa from 10 Chemistry 1 - the recent Third Prize winner in Chemistry!
