October 20th – Vietnamese Women's Day – is a chance for each of us to send out our deepest and most sincere wishes not only to our mothers and grandmothers, but also to all of the dedicated teachers - an integral part of every student's life. As a 12th grade student soon to graduate from high school, among many others, I will always remember Ms. An – form teacher of class 12 French 2, a lovely sister with the brightest smile and witty remarks about Physics. In celebration of October 20th, let's join in with Ams Wide Web for a conversation with her!

Interviewer: Firstly I would like to thank you for taking part in the interview! Among countless other professions, why did you choose to become a teacher

I was “forced” to by my parents actually! When I first chose the teaching profession, I only considered it to be the same as any other profession, useful to society and self-sufficient. But later on I started to realize that I loved the job, loved the students and even their mischief. So I may have come to the job being "forced" to, but the reason for staying with it is simply because of love.

Interviewer: There are many people commenting that Physics is a dry subject, so why did you choose to teach it particularly?

Physics is dry? Not at all! (laugh) Physics is a very interesting subject with many practical applications in life. I originally specialized in Maths but I switched to Physics because of my love for circuit analysis. I never thought that the confusing circuit could be so intriguing!

Interviewer: Class French 2 15-18 is the second class of which you are the form teacher. Moreover, there are only a little more than 200 days until they graduate, can you please share some of your feelings with us?

Personally, I think as a form teacher I will take an interest in all of my students’ affairs. Being a form teacher involves both fun and hardships but most importantly I can become much closer to the class.

The first time being a form teacher brought me a myriad of emotions; I cried a lot on the day we parted. This time is a bit different, I am calmer, like a mother having her second child. There are times when I love my class dearly and times when I am indescribably frustrated, but it is already the 12th grade, and I know on the Parting day I will still cry a lot and miss them a lot, too.

Interviewer: So do you have any advice for the students regarding their future?

I only hope that my students this year will be able to realize their dreams and choose their desired careers. There is not much time left but many of them still have not decided, so I am quite worried. I think the first thing they need to do is to define their goals, then prepare the plan as well as the knowledge to achieve those goals. Also, if possible, stay beside your friends more, and share with one another the most beautiful days of your high school life. I hope you all will succeed!

Interviewer: Thank you for sparing your precious time for this interview.

The more I listen to Ms. An’s answers, the more I understand about the concerns and worries she felt for the class. In addition to being a teacher, she truly is a "big sister" who always tries to take care of and guide her “younger siblings” on the road of life. This October 20th, on behalf of the whole class, I would like to wish you good health, happiness and further success in your teaching career. May you continue to pass down your passion and cultivate the love for Physics in the future generations of Amsers!
