(VOV)-Volunteers support the patients and their families at National Institute of Burns and Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics with rice and bread.

After nearly one month of planning and preparing for the project, PSY team and the volunteers initialized the project “Fill a Bowl, Feed a Heart” at National Institute of Burns and Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics with rice and bread.

The project “Fill a Bowl, Feed a Heart” by Potential and Social Youth (or PSY) team, a representative of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School’s students, was founded and supported by  Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales (AIESEC).

Based on the concept “Food Bank”, the purpose of the project was to help poor people, who experience difficult situations, make the most out of unused surplus food, and to raise social awareness on the matter.

Right after school, the team went to National Institute of Burns to give the patients and their families on time.

One patient here shared her thoughts: “The food the students brought here was very delicious. They are also nice and friendly to people.”

In the afternoon, the team as well as the volunteers continued to visit children at Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics. Besides giving cakes to the children of every room in 3 departments, the volunteers also held games and performances as well as presenting the kids with books and toys.

This activity is very meaningful because the students not only support food for the young patients and their families but also express their sincere care for less fortunate children, bringing smiles to their faces.

“Seeing the patients, the cakes, the servings and their smiles, difficulties and tiredness experienced seem to disappear and are replaced with happiness.”, one volunteer said.
