Event series celebrating Hanoi – Amsterdam’s 30^th birthday

Hanoi – Amsterdam High School’s 30^th birthday, along with the school’s receipt of the Second-best Independence Medal, is coming in a few days. With a view to a successful celebration, the school’s management board and students are urgently taking the final steps of preparation. Let’s have a look at the celebration event series with us -  Ams Wide Web’s reporters!

The school’s 30^th birthday celebration is an event for ex-Amsers to come home, meet each other and to recall all the good memories. Therefore, this celebration will be a bridge that connects generations of Amsers and their teachers during Ams’ 30-year journey.

On November 9^th 2015, in order to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day and Ams’ 30^th birthday, the school has successfully held the exhibition “Hanoi – Amsterdam – 30-year journey and future aspirations” with a number of historically meaningful pictures of Ams’ foundation, formation and development. Besides, on November 11^th, a model of the old Ams (1^st Nam Cao) has been erected in the middle of the beloved new Ams. That old Ams’ gate used to be the memory of generations of Amsers, the nostagic loving words for who belongs forever to the old Ams on Nam Cao Street. An antique Ams erected in the middle of the modern Ams is the reminder for all generations of students about the school’s traditions and each Amser’s burning aspiration to soar high in the sky.

Specially, in order to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, the school has organized a celebration ceremony called “30-year journey and future aspirations”. The ceremony acted like a film that took Ams’ ex-teachers and students back in time to “those good days”. This is a profound grateful word that all generations of Amsers want to send to their beloved teachers.

Another special event of Ams’ 30-year birthday celebration is the camp festival among the school’s specialized classes and ex-students. On December 19^th, the school management board and the class representatives had a discussion about ideas and preparing steps for the festival. A number of interesting and creative ideas were brought forward, for example projecting films about the class’ history or organizing a small exhibition of the class’ distinctive activities. This is an event not only for current students to look back on the classes’ development but also for ex-Amser generations to share interesting experiences they’d been through during their school years; that’s why this event is welcomed by a great number of students.

All programs have been well planned and all preparation steps are being taken with a view to a successful and meaningful “homecoming” event. Another interesting pre-event prior to the celebration is the basketball exchange league “Ams 30 years old”. Generations of Amsers will have a chance to participate regardless of age and take sport spirit as a thread to connect with each other. The final game of this league will take place in the afternoon of December 19^th.

As a part of Ams’ 30^th birthday celebration, a documentary movie introducing the school’s 30-year journey of formation and development has been completed and will be projected at 10pm December 15^th on AVT program – H2 channel of Hanoi Broadcasting Station and at 9.30am December 26^th at Hanoi – Amsterdam 700-seat stadium.

“30-year journey and future aspirations” yearbooks have also been printed and will act as meaningful presents for all generations of Hanoi – Amsterdam teachers.

Through a lot of efforts of the school’s management board, teachers and students, Ams’ 30^th birthday celebration will be an unforgettable memory in everybody’s mind. We wish the celebration will take place successfully and become a great milestone in Hanoi – Amsterdam’s development journey.
