Sex Education - an overwhelmingly surprising program

Post by: Mai Thành Sơn | 03/06/2012 | 3392 reads

After months of preparing, Sex Education has eventually succeeded on Tuesday, 22th May. This show touched on a sensitive issue about sexes in an interesting, humorous yet knowledgeable way.

Asian people always hold a prejudice against the matter regarding sex. As a result, students of our age have a bunch of questions about this issue, but what they receive in return are vague answers from adults, leading to serious misunderstandings about their own genders. Accordingly, there’s a story saying: a kid asks his father about his origin. The father replies: Your parents love kids, so God brings you here. Dissatisfied, the kid asks his grandfather where he comes from. He says: “Because we love kids, eagle brings you here to us”. Probably, these answers don’t please the kid, so who knows what this kid will find on the Internet if he searches: where do kids come from?

The organizing committee marked rows for each class

Therefore, Sex Education has brought vivid answers for Amsers to solve their own problems. This show was divided into 3 parts:

- Gay/ Les

- Sex/ Porn

- Having sex before adolescence

Each part was divided into 2 sections: the first one was the facts prepared by the members of the organizing committee and the second was scientific knowledge shared by the experts from not only our school but also from the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

To begin with, students were attracted by a full version of the promotional video. Phương - a hotboy at school - mesmerized many girls including Hà and Ngọc. Coincidentally, the two girls simulatenously went to his class to give him love letters at the same time. Astonishingly, they found out condoms in Phương’s locker. But it suddenly dawned on them that Phương was a gay and loved another boy, Việt Anh.

2 MCs

This was followed by a conversation between two MCs and Hoàng Phương (11IT) and Việt Anh (10Geo). The audience was amazed by not only their salient acting skills but also their humor in giving their replies. However, behind the veneer of laughter were the painful prejudice everybody has held against the homosexual and the misunderstandings about this 3rd sex. And the concluding line of the MC was truly worth some consideration: Be true to yourself.

The second part was Sex/ Porn - an extremely sensitive issue that intrigued the audience because of its approach.  Such comical questions and answers like “Why do roosters crow in the morning?” or when expert Xoáy (Bùi Hải Ninh) asked: “Do you watch high school movies (Porn)?”, expert Xoay (Lê Đức Anh 10His) replied: “I love Cat-3 films. My favorite is High School Musical” received standing ovation. But that wasn’t all. In the end, expert Xoay performed a song composed by himself on the melody of the song “A cowboy’s work is never done”. This song is solely about Porn, making the audience surprised. To conclude this matter, Mrs. Phương Lan, an incumbent Biology teacher at our school, who is known for her expertise and psychological understanding, went to the stage to supply satisfactory answers to the audience. Naïve answers from the students made the audience laugh out loud.

The third part offered the audience a chance to watch a video of how to use condom and opinions of both students and teachers about having sex before adolescence. Students had a golden opportunity to get access to scientific knowledge from Mr. Quang Năng as well as 3 experts from the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, who presented vividly and lively.

Students attending Sex Education must have been very impressed that day. This is a meaningful show which, more crucially, proves the maturity of the future leaders of the Youth Pioneer of Hà Nội - Amsterdam high school.
