At 7 o'clock on 14 May, the check-in counter of English Performance 2016: “Grease the musical” by English 2 classes officially started to welcome the audience. Apparently, the musical was a great attraction as the 700-seat hall was soon filled with people, and the organizers had to prepare extra seats to cater for the audience.

Unlike the more fictional ones in the previous years, EP 2016 offered a relatable, heart-warming performance. Staged in an American high school in the 50s and 60s, the musical told the love story between Danny Zuko and Sandy Olson.Danny was a playboy of the T-Birds crew, whose shiny appearance and a crazefor speed had taken the heart of many girls, including the innocent and graceful Sandy Olsson. The musical started with the scenario of the romantic beach where Danny and Sandy first met. They had profound feelings for each other, and the audience could not help being carried away. However, the budding love was put off shortly after that, as Sandy had to move to Australia, which would be half the world away from Danny.

Contrary to popular belief that their relationship would end promptly, Danny and Sandy met once again at high school. Sandy was overcome with the precious feelings she had that summer, and her rejoice was beyond words. Nevertheless, enjoying the admiration from numerous school girls, Danny happened to forget all about the love deep down his heart, and he lost Sandy.

But once two hearts belong, they always find a way to each other, come what may. Danny eventually realized how important Sandy was, and he knew he would never let his love go. Sandy forgave Danny, and went to prom with him.

The musical reached its climax when Rizzo Betty, the beautiful and powerful leader of the hot girl group, also had feelings for Danny Zuko. She decided to separate the couple again, and succeeded.

The truth finally came into light, Danny found out about Rizzo's plans, and made it clear that the only girl in his heart was Sandy Olsson. Not only Rizzo but also the T-Birds tried to prevent Danny from coming to Sandy. Danny reassured his decision with a powerful action: he smashed the car "Grease Lightning" - the pride of the group, to follow his true love.

Let down by misunderstandings, Sandy decided to return to Australia, leaving her relationship with Danny behind.

Before leaving, Sandy came to say goodbye to Rizzo. Despite knowing that the bad girl might have mischievous intentions, with genuine friendship, Sandy managed to convert Rizzo. Rizzo put away her selfishness and the desire to acquire the love that did not belong to her, and eventually confessed everything to Sandy. This must have been the most humane image of the performance, showing that there is no room for intentions and ruses in love. Only with a pure heart can people find love from one another.

After all difficulties and misunderstandings, Sandy and Danny finally got back together, making their romantic love the perfect ending of the story.

English Performance definitely came to the expectations of the audience: a well prepared and professional musical down to every detail. Another outstanding feature is the brilliant performance of all the actors. English Performance 2016 - “Grease the Musical” will certainly be an unforgettable experience for the audience and every individual contributing to its success
