On the afternoon of 11/14/2014, a friendly exchange between Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and Korean International School Hanoi – KISH was held at Hanoi – Amsterdam. In the meeting, the two sides discussed and undertook to support each other, develop educationand strengthen solidarity. This exchange is a good sign of the diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Korea.
People often say that a best friend is a present beyond perfection in the world, and luckily, Ams has brought me two. I cannot express how thankful I am for having these two people by my side, sharing a huge bunch in common and reaching what is hidden inside me. In some ways they are more myself than I am; it is not exaggerated to say that “whatever our souls are made of, theirs and mine are the same”.
Mr Le Tat Ton, born in 1943, is a retired teacher working for Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted from 1983 to 2003. During his time at school, he used to teach generations of students majoring in Mathematics; he also used to be the Head of Math – Computer Science Department as well as the President of school’s staff union.
I once chanced upon a saying: "There are people who do not necessarily stay with you for the rest of your life. God just sent them to bestow upon you a lesson." Perhaps life still has a lot in store for an innocent child like me, but part of it has been filled with love and protection straight from your heart, the heart of my beloved teacher - Ms. Ninh.
The International Junior Science Olympiad 2014 (IJSO 2014)- a competition for 10th graders consisting of Chemistry, Physics and Biology- is going to take place in Argentina this December. After going through a number of incredibly tough and competitive rounds, 6 participants, 5 of whom are Hanoi- Amsterdam students, will have the honor of representing Vietnam at this year’s International Junior Science Olympiad. On the 18 of October , the field trip to Bac Giang of classes 10T1, 10T2, 10P2 and 10A2 was officially organized. With a number of activities such as granting presents to the children of Truong Son – Luc Nam primary school and having some small talks with members of the Army Corps 2, the journey has left students of Hanoi – Amsterdam with a lot of special, interesting and meaningful experience.
