Students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted won the first prize in the "Solve for Tomorrow 2021" contest

The Organizing Board have just announced the winning projects at the "Solve for Tomorrow 2021" contest’s finale. This is the recognition of the most innovative technological applications designed by teams from junior high schools and high schools across Vietnam.

Team The Eco Warriors (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted) with the project "A machine that turns recycled face masks into plastic products" (group B) was one of the two 1st Prize winners.

Accordingly, the Organizing Committee awarded 2 First Prizes, 2 Second Prizes and 6 Third Prizes; and they respectively belonged to the Robo Kat team (Truong Xuan Secondary School, Dong Thap province) with the project "Research and application of the non-contact suction method to design, manufacture, building a wall-climbing robot car that aids the exploration & inspection of sewer pipes” (Table A) and The Eco Warriors team (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Hanoi) with the project "A machine that turns recycled face masks into plastic products" (Table B).

The Prizes were selected from 20 teams with 20 projects entering the final round, all of which demonstrated their excellence in providing useful solutions to pressing issues of our community.

The Organizing Board was most impressed by "Research and application of the non-contact suction method to design, manufacture, building a wall-climbing robot car that aids the exploration & inspection of sewer pipes” - the project developed by Team Robo Kat. The device helps monitor human movement in dark and dangerous places such as centrifugal sewer pipes, civil square sewer pipes. It also helps clean glass, ceilings, high-rise buildings …

Besides, in the context of Covid-19’s complicated development, for used face masks not to have a negative impact on the environment, The Eco Warrior Team developed a project: "A machine that turns recycled face masks into plastic product”, allowing used masks to continue their life cycle under a new look of plastic pots, achieving the dual goal of reducing waste and acting as containers for green plants.

Previously, at the end of the preliminary round in June 2021, the contest witnessed nearly 1,500 entries from 315 high schools in 52 provinces. At the same time, the online training course at the contest’s website (www.kientaotuonglai.com.vn [1]) attracted nearly registrations from 71,000 students and 4,000 teachers.
