The journey of National Defense Education activities at Hanoi-Amsterdam High School
National Defense Education in schools has always played a key role in building a National Defense Education system for all citizens and training them in a way that is in line with the socialist ideology. On the occasion of the implementation of a media plan on national defense and security education by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, we are going to look back on past national defense activities that the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted has taken part in.
1. The National Defense - Security Education Sports Festival 2014
The National Defense - Security Education Sports Festival was held on October 29th, 2014 at Tran Hung Dao High School. The delegation of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted had 12 students competing in 7 categories. With the conscientious guidance from the team leader - Nguyen Van Manh and the enthusiastic support from the teachers, our school ranked second out of all delegations, with 3 first prizes in the categories of shooting, tactics, knowledge of National Defense and Security Education; 3 second prizes in the categories of gun assembling, grenades throwing, first aid bandaging, and a third prize for team formation.

2. The National Defense - Security Education Sports Festival 2016 - 2017
The National Defense - Security Education Sports Festival for the 2016-2017 school year took place for 3 days on December 1st, December 2nd and December 3rd in Son Tay Town. 26 units including several high schools in the city participated. Teacher Nguyen Van Manh continues to become the leader for the team in the sports festival. Thanks to the previous experience and the enthusiastic guidance from Mr. Van Manh, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted once again achieved astounding results. In particular, the contestants received 7 individual and team awards. The team prizes include: second prize for team gun assembling, second prize for team tactics, third prize for team awareness of national defense, third prize for team first aid bandaging, and third prize for team shooting. Regarding the individual prize, student Pham Kim Anh (12 Math 2) excellently won the third prize in the gun assembling category.

In addition, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted has excellently won the first prize for 3 consecutive years in National Defense and Security Education contests in the Thanh Xuan - Cau Giay unit. Although national defense activities have not been organized in the last 2 years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, teachers and students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted are always aware of the importance of national defense - security education and will continue to diligently study and enhance national defense knowledge.
