Joining the session with Amsers was Dr. Vu Thi Thu Hien - an Anesthesiologist from the Hanoi Obstertric Hospital. As someone who has been working for a long time with C-section, pelvic surgery, endoscopic surgery, etc. and especially adolescent abortions, she understood the suffering and long-lasting consequences that result from a lack of understanding of reproductive health, which leads to unwanted pregnancies.

Doctor Vu Thi Thu Hien had an intimate talk with the female Amsers about ways to sanitise the body during menstrual period, how to calculate the cycle date,... The girls 'deepest concerns' were all patiently and whole-heartedly explained by Doctor.

In her lecture, Dr. Vu Thi Thu Hien also introduced all current contraceptive methods: cyclical day, condom use, oral contraceptives, intrauterine insertion, tubal ligation, vasectomy, etc. The doctor categorised the contraceptives into temporary or permanent, for male or female, and so on. She also talked about the strong and weak points of each contraceptive method. Finally, the doctor explained the common mistakes in contraception and delivered the final conclusions on safe sex.

Lastly Dr. Vu Thi Thu Hien introduced, in a lively and intuitive way, the fertilisation of the eggs and sperm, as well as the development, growth and completion of the fetus in the mother's body.

From Hanoi Obstetrics Hopsital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Tran Anh Duc gave a detailed tutorial on how to use contraceptives, especially for the male Amsers. He elaborated on the changes during puberty, genitalisation and genitourinary disorders common to puberty, as well as ways to prevent them.

Dr. Tran Anh Duc also gave his perspective on the subjects "Should teenagers be in a relationship?", sexual intercourse and unsafe sex, consequences of unwanted pregnancies during adolescence, sexual abuse and lawful punishments, etc.

Through the session, 700 tenth-graders of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School For the Gifted have experienced a valuable opportunity to equip themselves with knowledge and skills necessary for ensuring reproductive health. The activities that aimed to guide the students in a direction, a right one, were practical to ensure the health and future for nowadays' adolescents.
