The session took place in an enthusiastic and engaging atmosphere from both the students and teachers. The students answered the English questions with confidence, and were very excited upon listening to the UK’s leading education experts addressing the students’ learning problems. 

In the beginning of the session, the students had a conversation with Ms. Dan Khanh Phuong - Bellerbys College’s Admissions Director in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar. She is a former Biology major in Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, as well as an alumni of Bellerbys College. Therefore, not only was she able to share essential information on Bellerbys’ school system during the meeting, but she also gave useful advice to study for the A-Level programme, which the students are participating in.

Next, the students had the opportunity to meet Mr. Russell Howells, Learning Enhancement Coordinator and Mr. Sebastian Baker, A-Level Programme Manager. The two teachers offered a comprehensive account of overseas education orientation in the near future, provided career guidance, as well as sharing effective learning methods to study under scholarships programmes. In addition, the teachers and Bellerbys College also gave several offers for the A-Level students.

At the end of the session, the students gained a lot of useful knowledge as well as having a clearer direction of their academic pathway, both at present and in the future. I hope that in the forthcoming future, not only the A-Level but also every student from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted will get the chance to attend practical studying abroad counselling sessions like today.
