Society of Open Science (SOS), founded in 2014, is a science club of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. The number of members and the quality of events get more and more impressive through years of running the club. Behind such success stand the devoted management board. Today, we have the chance to interview one of the club's presidents in the term 2016-1017 – Le Tran Anh Duc (Chemistry class 1518).
Science and Technology
On August 14th morning, Hanoi University of Science and Technology put on a welcome ceremony for K62 freshmen, including Dinh Anh Dung, the student of Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted’s Physics class who got a gold medal in International Physics Olympiad 2017, and three other medalists in the Olympiad.
In recent days, we have been receiving good news from every International Olympiad with prestigious medals. Hanoi-Amsterdam High School is very privileged to have excellent students contributing to the proud list of achievements. With this result, Hanoi-Amsterdam High School once again proves its right pathway to key education for the development of each student’s extraordinary talents, the utmost care and supervision of its Board of Rectors, and the hard work of the students as well as teachers involved in the teaching gifted students process
In the International Chemistry Olympiad IChO 19 (2017) in Thailand, the Vietnamese team was honored to have 4 contestants and has brought home prideworthy medals: 3 gold and 1 silver. One of those gold medals belongs to Nguyen Bang Thanh Lam - a student of class 12 Chemistry 1 at Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, term 2014-2017.
Since the first year of participation in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) to date, Vietnam has achieved the highest results in 2017, ranking third in the world with 4 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal. In particular, Pham Nam Khanh, 11th grade math student of Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, was honored Silver Medal.
From June 5 to June 10, the Society of Open Science and Physics Youth Hanoi Amsterdam Club in association with the HES marketing club has organized Science Camp 2017 for 110 children aged 9 to 12 in Hanoi city. The camp has received an incredibly enthusiastic response from the kids’ parents
On 20/12/2017, at the 100 hall of the Hanoi High School in Amsterdam, a meeting was held between teachers in the Board of Management, School Trade Union, Teachers' Union and veteran teachers. - the "ferrymen" of many past generations of students. Although many teachers no longer stand on the podium in the regular lessons, still they have contributed and devoted considerable effort to help build a proud school of Hanoi capital.
After the results of the National Team Competition were published, everyone were surprised once again when the Math Team this year enjoys the participation of a student from grade 10 – Nguyen Hoang Tung Lam – 10 Math 1. Many people have already heard of Tung Lam with his achievements from different Math competitions, on both a small and a large scale. So today let us have a talk with this talented guy!
On the morning of 5/11/2016, Hanoi – Amsterdam High School was honored to welcome delegations from Singapore School of Science and Technology who have come to take part in cultural and academic exchanges. The meeting took place successfully in the exciting atmosphere, demonstrating a firm friendship between younger generations from the two countries.
