WEEKLY MEETING - AWARDING VALEDICTORIANS AND OTHER STUDENTS WITH OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS
Under the cozy autumn breeze, the weekly meeting took place on Monday morning of September 19th to the excitement of teachers and students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School. Although the school year 2022-2023 has just kicked off, many students and classes have been already awarded in recognition of their impressive achievements in the first two weeks.
The ceremony begins with a flag salutation, which is a solemn and meaningful event. All students then enthusiastically sing along to the triumphant national anthem. Meanwhile, two students, Nguyễn Đức Hiệp (12 Physics 1) and Nguyễn Hồng Nhung (11 Maths 2), holding major achievements in city-level olympiads and the annual World Chess Championship, was given the honor to raise the flag.

Ms. Trần Thùy Dương - School Principal directly gave the awards to Nguyễn Hồng Nhung from 11 Maths 2. Having taken part in the World Chess Championship hosted by the International Chess Association from 05 to 17.09.2022, Hong Nhung made it through 11 rounds, competing against 620 contestants of over 70 associations coming from every continent of the world. Coming back from Romania with an honorable Silver Medal for the U16 female board, “the golden rose” also brought back with her glory for Hanoi - Amsterdam High School in particular and the national chess world in general.

After that, two representatives, Ms. Tran Thuy Duong and Mr. Bui Van Phuc - Vice Principal, gave the awards to high-scoring 10th grade students in the secondary and high school entrance exams on behalf of the school. Here is the list of each class’ valedictorians:

Finally, many classes were praised for impressive academic accomplishments and consistent discipline. At the end of the ceremony, students were informed about the importance of obeying traffic laws and upcoming activities for the youths.
The weekly meeting became a fresh start for a new and joyful school week, filling each student with pride to be wearing the uniform of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School. Let us hope that these achievements will set new bars for our students to follow the footsteps of their predecessors, keeping the thirst for knowledge alive so that they can continue upholding the tradition of our school.
