A meet-up between students participating in Hanoi’s city-level olympiad for 9th graders

Just before Hanoi’s 9th Graders’ City-level Olympiad, on 5/1/2023, 116 participating students, teachers from all teams and the school board of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted organized a solemn meeting at the Hall 200.

Ms. Trần Thùy Dương - School Principal, opened the meeting by giving a welcoming speech to the 116 excellent students who will be participating in the city-level olympiad of the years 2022-2023. Praising the teachers’ devotion as well as the relentless efforts coming from the students themselves, she then sent her best wishes to them, hoping they will stay calm and confident to win the contest. She also hoped that they will maintain the spirit and traditions of the school to achieve the best prizes and delivered wishes for good health and happiness to all for this new year.

On behalf of all teachers, mr. Nguyễn Đắc Thắng - leading teacher of the Math team, also extended his thanks to the dedication the teacher of each team has made and some advice to the students. Lastly, he wished all students good luck, hoping they would give it their all and to the best of their own abilities alongside keeping “a warm heart and a cool head” for the competition.

Representing the 116 participants of the olympiad, Phạm Đăng Nguyên from 9A and in the Math team also sent his best wishes to teachers and other students, especially giving thanks to the leading teachers who had accompanied them over the last four months and gave them more than informative lessons. Additionally, he wished all students joining in the olympiad would “burn passionately” and successfully continue the school’s tradition.

After the speeches, teachers and students all went on the stage to receive encouragement gifts from the school.
