First semester’s ending ceremony of Ha Noi - Amsterdam High school, school year 2020 - 2021

On Monday, 18/1/2021, Ha Noi - Amsterdam High School held a preliminary ceremony for the first semester of school year 2020 - 2021 with a view to summarizing and honouring the remarkable achievements and constant efforts of the school’s teachers and students throughout the first semester, as well as introducing new goals and action plans for the next semester.


 

The ceremony involved the attendance of the school’s managing board, teachers from the Education Council, and students from Ha Noi - Amsterdam Middle and High School. Representing the school’s managing board, teacher Duong Tu Anh read the first semester’s preliminary report, including an honouring speech of the achievements the school accomplished over the last semester in terms of both academics and extracurricular activities, as well as an awarding ceremony to excellent teachers, classes and students this semester.

Over the last semester, Ha Noi - Amsterdam High School has achieved remarkable results in regional, national and international competitions.


 a. Excellent Students Competitions for high schoolers

  • National Excellent Students Competition 2020 - 2021: Among 112 participants, 93 achieved awards, with 4 first prizes in Chemistry, 2 first prizes in Physics, 1 first prize each in Math, History, Geography and English. Additionally, the school’s team also had 33 second prizes, 31 third prizes and 19 particiapation prizes. Leading in the number of award achievers this year are the Chemistry, Physics and English teams, with 100% of participants in Chemistry and English receiving awards.

  • First round of the Regional Excellent Students Competition for high schoolers: 334 awards with 33 first prizes, 140 second prizes, 79 third prizes, 82 participation prizes. Second round: 112 students of the school’s teams made it into the National Excellent Student Competition, with exceptionally high numbers of students in teams such ad English, Chemistry, French, Physics.

  • The Regional Science and Technology Competition Intel ISEF: 2 first prizes and 1 second prize.

  • The National Information Technology Competition for the Youth: 2 second prizes, 1 participation prize.


b. Excellent Students Competitions for middle schoolers

  • The Excellent Students Competition of Cau Giay District: 33 first prizes, 72 second prizes. 20 third prizes and 16 participation prizes, with 8 first prizes in Science, 7 first prizes in Information Technology, 5 first prizes in Math, 3 first prizes in Physics, Chemistry and History.

  • The National IT competition for the Youth: 3 second prizes, 1 participation prize.

 

c. International competitions

  • European Physics Olympiad: 1 Gold Medal.

  • International Physics Olympiad: 1 Bronze Medal.

  • International Astrophysics and Astronomy Competition: 1 Bronze Medal.

  • IOM 2020: 8 Medals including 5 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal, 2 Bronze Medals.

 - High schoolers: 

  • 98,7% achieved Excellent Honours, 1,3% achieved Good Honours and 0% achieved Average Honours. 

  • 99,6% achieved Excellent Conduct, 0,4% achieved Good Conduct and 0% achieved Average Conduct.

- Middle schoolers:

 

  

  • 98,9% achieved Excellent Honours, 1,1% achieved Good Honours and 0% achieved Average Honours.
  • 100% achieved Excellent conduct.

Teachers who made notable contributions to school activities over the last semester

 

Regarding collective activities, the school successfully held the online Orientation Day for 6th and 10th graders, the Mid-Autumn Festival, NHAT, the Students’ Association Congress and the Detachment Congress, school’s mental health counselling, a charity field trip, the Green Environment launching ceremony, the Photography competition in celebration of Teachers’ Day 20/11, the extracurricular lecture for 10th graders  on fire fighting and prevention, the extracurricular lecture on cyber security for middle schoolers, an International Science movie session, a poetry exchange session among generations of teachers, an Art competition on Environment and Climate change in collaboration with the Embassy of Holland.

Collective and extracurricular sports events also achieved commendable results in areas such as: Karate, Taekwondo, Badminton, Swimming, Basketball, Aerobic, Chess.

 

On the first Monday of the second semester, this preliminary ceremony marked the end of the first semester - that of constant efforts from both teachers and students. In light of such remarkable achievements of the first semester, let’s hope that the next semester will continue to engender excellent results in both academics and extracurricular activities!
