Young Pioneer Association Congress is an important event that is held annually in order to summarize the success achieved during the Association’s previous term.

In the afternoon of December 2nd, Hanoi - Amsterdam High school for the Gifted organised Young Pioneer Association Congress at 100 meeting hall with the participation of Ms Tran Dieu Linh - Member of the District’s Young Pioneer Organisation Standing Committee, Ms Duong Tu Anh - the school’s Vice President, Mr. Cao Van Dung - Organisations’ curator, Ms Le Hong Hanh - Organisations and Commander Committee’s curator assistant during 2019-2020 and pioneers representing the secondary school’s organisations.

Participants listened to reports about the organisation’s activities and children’s movement for the 2019-2020 school year. According to the report, the Association of the 2019-2020 term had carried out many activities such as: organizing the opening ceremony of the new school year, anniversaries, competitions, charities, sex education sessions for students, activities to preserve "green environment". In addition to the excellent achievements of the Association: the number of students late for school decreased; Grade 9A won thirteen first prizes in the city’s Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Maths contests; the school won 17 first prizes in cultural subjects, with one first prize and one second prize at Talent Clubs in Cau Giay District’s festival, one second prize at the online public administrative services competition, third prize for the youth festival "Future green city and creative festival for the young", four Gold medals, one Silver medal, four Southeast Asian bronze medals.

The congress gave the direction of the Association's activities for the school year 2020-2021. Accordingly, in the school year 2020-2021, the Young Pioneer Organisation of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted would strive to perform well at the Organisation’s activities to make the Association become strong, with the theme of "Capital city children, proud of tradition, step up into the Union " in this school year.

Following the direction was the speeches of comrades in the Association. The speeches on learning, discipline, ethics, and extracurricular activities were delivered in front of everyone, indicating the advantages, disadvantages, pros - cons and directions for each member in the future. The speech about studying emphasized the issue of "Learning for yourself". Students needed to find a learning method that is suitable for themselves, knowing their strengths and weaknesses in each subject to overcome, and find the inspiration to learn by themselves. The speech about extracurricular activities also emphasized the educating and improving students’ life skills. Accordingly, the presentation showed the advantages of integrating educational lessons and improving life skills into the Association's main lectures. The Association had successfully organized many extra-curricular activities for middle schoolers such as "Orientation Day for Sixth Graders", Mid-Autumn Festival activities, and donations to underprivileged regions. In the speech, the speaker also proposed some activities to take place during the school year.

The last part of the congress was electing a Young Pioneer Commander Committee during 2020-2021. After the previous leader of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Association in the term 2019-2020 announced his dismissal, the Association launched the election of a new term’s Young Pioneer Association Commander Committee, consisting of 5 outstanding members who would take on the responsibility of managing the activities of the Association this term.
