Phan Phuong Dat – Math class, course 1985 – 1988

Dat participated in the International Math Olympiad twice and is currently the director of FPT Software Corporation.

Phan Anh Tuan – course 1985 – 1988

Tuan acquired a PhD in Physics in Paris

Ho Thanh Tung – Math class, course 1985 – 1988

Tung participated in the International Math Olympiad in 1988 and is currently the director of ORACLE’s Southeast Asian branch in Vietnam.

Phan Thi Ha Duong- course 1989 - 1990

In 1990, Phan Thi Ha Duong, a student of Hanoi – Amsterdam, was the only female contestant of Vietnam delegation to participate in the International Math Olympiad in Beijing, China and she won a bronze medal. In the same year, Ha Duong became a student whose major was Math – Technology at the University for the Gifted.  After three years, she obtained a scholarship from France’s Government and was exceptionally admitted to the University of Paris 6 as a senior student. With great diligence, Duong gradually acquired a Master degree and then a PhD, finally ascended to the position of Professor at the University of Paris 7 at the age of 26 and became the youngest Vietnamese female professor. After 12 years abroad, including 6 years teaching in France, Ha Duong, having gained vast knowledge and experiences, returned to Vietnam in August, 2005 and has been working in Vietnam’s Math Institute. Destpite having to give up several privileges such as researching environment, she enjoys teaching and making contribution to Vietnam, her dear motherland, hoping that her child will have a beautiful childhood like she did.

Hoang Minh Hong – RE class, course 1989 - 1992

Hong is currently UNESCO’s envoy. She became the first Vietnamese to set foot on the South Pole, saying that “At the ending pole of the Earth, I am still proud of having been a student of Hanoi  - Amsterdam.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh, French class course 1992 - 1995

Binh won the International Organization of the Francophone prize and took a photo with the contemporary French President, Jacque Chirac and Vietnamese vice President, Nguyen Thi Binh at the summit of the IOF in Canada.

Do Lenh Cong, course 1996 - 1999

Cong earned a scholarship from Nottingham University in England

Do Ba Khiem – Physics class, course 1998 - 1992

Khiem received a scholarship from TAFT in Connecticut, the USA and came out 6th in the honor list of TAFT.

Dinh Sy Quang – Physics class, course 1992 - 1995

Quang participated in the International Physics Olympiad twice and is currently studying and going to finish a PhD degree in the USA.

Nguyen Xuan Son – Physics class, course 1993 - 1996

Son took part in the International Physics Olympiad twice and graduated from Paris University of Science and Technology.

Tran Minh Anh – Math class, course 1994 - 1997

Minh Anh participated in the International Math Olympiad twice and is currently a lecturer at Paris University of  Education and is going to finish a PhD.

Trinh Thu Giang – Math class, course 1993 - 1996

Giang is currently a teacher at National Economics University

Dang Quoc Hiep, an MC who came out as a valedictorian twice.

People can often recognize Hiep as an MC for the show “Race to Mount Olympia”. However, rarely do they know that this guy has came out as a valedictorian twice, the first time at Hanoi – Amsterdam high school and the second time at Foreign Trade University with an entrance exam mark of 35,5. He has also won a four-year scholarship from Japanese Sumitomo Corporation.

Tran Thanh Hoai – IT class, course 1998 – 2001

Hoai received a prize at the International IT Olympiad twice and is currently studying at Nanyang Technology University Singapore

Le Thuy Thuy

She was the first Vietnamese student to enter the semi-final of the competition The Young Nobel, hosted by Intel Corporation and is currently studying at Oregon University in the USA.

Nguyen Thi Van Trinh

In 2002, while studying at Bosworth College, Trinh was a member of the British delegation participating in the International Chemistry Olympiad in Holland and received a silver medal.

Do Le Thu Ngoc

Ngoc  is currently in fellowship at Havard University in the USA and is  preparing thesis for PhD.

Dang Hoang Vu

Vu is studying at Bromsgrove School. He received a full-ride scholarship form Cambridge University in 2003

Hoang Mai Chi – English class, course 2002 – 2005

Chi not only was a member of the delegation participating in the National English Olympiad but also received a full-ride scholarship from Yale University.

Vu Thuy Anh – Chemistry class, course 1998 -2001

Thuy Anh took part in the International Youth Festival in Hawaii in 2000.

Pham Thi Thu Huong – English class, course 1998 – 2001

Huong took part in the International Youth Festival in Hawaii in 2000.

Le Xuan Linh – English class, course 2000 - 2003

Linh participated in the International Youth Parliament in Sydney in 2000

Ha Lan Anh – English class, course 2000 – 2007

Lan Anh participated in the International Youth Parliament in Sydney in 2000. She attended both the UN’s conference on Children’s rights in the USA in May, 2002 and the conference on Children of Southeast Asia – Pacific Ocean region  in Korea in February, 2003. She was also honored to be a member of the delegation of UBDS in Switzerland in May, 2003.

Bui To Uyen – Chemistry class, course 2001 – 2004

Uyen won the first prize in the contest “Your city in 2020” and participated in the International Youth Parliament in Italy in May, 2004.

There are still myriads of excellent students living and studying domestically and abroad.(to be continued)
