Spread the Tet holiday spirit with GHA
"Warm Tet-Wrap love-Distribute happiness"(“Tết Ấm Áp-Gói yêu thương-Trao hạnh phúc”) hosted by Hanoi-Amsterdam’s GHA, is a voluntary event for all high school students in Hanoi.
“A warm Tet” is hosted by GHA annually during the Tet holiday period and is aimed not only to conserve Vietnam’s tradition of making Chung cake for New Year holiday but also to show love and sympathy and bring about a cozy holiday to those who suffer hardships like orphan kids or the elder living alone.
So great was the attention and support the event received that more than 300 application forms have been submitted, which anticipated the success of “A Warm Tet” of 2013.
Volunteers of the event were taught and guided to make Vietnam’s New Year special dish, the Chung cake. All of their products were then sent to many sufferers in Hanoi as gifts of love and care and wishes for a better New Year.
On January 27, GHA hosted the second training session for volunteers. Early in the morning, the volunteers turned up and were then divided into groups to make preparation with detailed guidance from the organizers.
Although some boys were not as dexterous as other girls and needed a lot of practice, success crowned the volunteer’s effort. All of the Chung cakes were beautifully made and filled with dear love and cherished memories.
In addition, participating in this GHA’s event also meant that the volunteers from different schools got the chance to get to know others, and make new friends, which helped to strengthen the friendship bond among high schools in Hanoi. Once again, GHA succeeded in imparting the meaning of the event, “A warm Tet” through practical activities and help both the organizers and the volunteers to enjoy a good and meaningful time in the New year holiday.
All the best wishes to GHA and “A warm Tet”. May happiness, pleasure and laughter come to all of us!
