Part 1: Opening Ceremony of the 2018-2019 school year

Attending the ceremony were officials representing the Department of Education and Ministry of Education and Training, ambassadors and representatives of the school's partners. Besides, there are flowers on behalf of: Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong, Standing Secretary of the Party Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Secretary of the City Hoang Trung Hai, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha.

Following the event, the delegates, teachers and students of the school joined the flag raising ceremony in a solemn and formal atmosphere. Under the red flag, teachers and students of Hanoi-Amsterdam High school promised to strive to have a new school year of high achievement.

On this year’s opening ceremony, the whole school was honored to listen to Letter of congratulations of the new school year by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. In the letter, the General Secretary said: "The mission of students of the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School is to complete the task of learning, to become a key force for the country"

Expressing gratitude to GS's profound instruction, the students of the school performed the song "Vietnam on our way" to remind ourselves to always strive.

Not only desire to work hard in learning, students also wanted to reach out to the world and meet international friends. The bilingual version of the song "Holding hands" had expressed that wish.

At the end of the ceremony, teachers and students of the school together released the beam of colorful balloons to the sky, symbolizing the dreams of teachers and students of the Hanoi-Ams High School.

Part 2: Education Board Meeting

After the opening ceremony, the Board of Management and all staff, teachers and employees of the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School were present to attend the board meeting at the beginning of the year to carry out the tasks for the school year 2018 - 2019.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Le Thi Oanh, Principal of the school wished the whole board of education health and full of energy, together with new joys. and new opportunities in the 2018-2019 school year.

Ms. Oanh also proudly presented the whole board of native English teachers cooperating in the curriculum of the school. Following the words of Ms. Le Thi Oanh, Mr. Joshua James on behalf of the British University Vietnam sent greetings to all staff, teachers, employees in the school board of education, concurrently on behalf of the native teachers, he also expressed his sincere thanks for the attention of the Board of Management and the School. Mr. Joshua James also shared: being with Hanoi-Ams with teachers is a great honor, a valuable educational experience.

To continue the program, Ms. Duong Tu Anh, Vice Principal of the school board presented the content of the school board's early meeting, including the preliminaries of education work in August and the plan in September. Accordingly, in August, the school's management board disseminated to the board of education the mission at the beginning of the school year, decided the team leader of each specialization, as well as meeting and signing teaching contract with contract teachers. Ms. Duong Tu Anh also emphasized the school's bi-certificate training, which is a new, challenging but promising field of success. She also reviewed the results of the exams in recent times that teachers and students of Hanoi - Amsterdam had worked to reap, such as International Mathematical Olympiad in Hungary, International Physics Olympiad in Portugal, International Young Mathematicians with outstanding achievements and forthcoming international astrophysics and International IJSO. The school successfully organized the orientation day, preparing psychologically for the new students in the school with the desire to instill the pride and responsibility in students. Ms. Duong Tu Anh also emphasized: Educating students is a task requiring synchronism in the whole school, so besides the Board of Management, we also need the close cooperation of each department such as the office, the medical team, the security team, the teachers and the specialized teachers in 

the management and education of the students.

Then, Ms. Duong Tu Anh presented the main contents of the September meeting, including the establishment of a team of astrophysics, the IJSO team, the National team, and especially is the event of NHAT on September 15th to show the colors of the different specializations. She also suggested that teachers pay attention to remind students of the costumes as well as the sense of protecting the school's facilities in extracurricular activities, preventing injuries to the students. Also in September, the specialization teams will meet and make plans for professional training for teachers. Besides, there is Mid-Autumn Festival organized for students in the 6th and 7th grade; Parents' representative meetings and parents' meetings; Register for sightseeing by grade (except grade 9 and 12); Training class leaders, club leaders.

The whole atmosphere of the council became tranquil for an emotional moment as two teachers: Ms. Tran Thu Huong, PE teacher and Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Math-Comsci teacher said goodbye to the school. Ms. Le Thi Oanh, Secretary of the Party committee, Principal of Hanoi-Ams gave two teachers a bouquet of flowers as sincere thanks for the valuable contributions to the school throughout the tireless years of work

Ending the meeting of the Board of Education at the beginning of the school year was the good wish of Ms. Le Thi Oanh to all the teachers. She wished them a lot of energy and joy to continue to take Hanoi - Amsterdam to greater successes, deserving to be the flagship of Capital’s Education in the new challenges and opportunities of the promising 2018-2019 school year.
