Congratulations to 10 students participating in the International Mathematics and Science Olympiad

At the International Mathematics and Science Olympiad IMSO in China recently, the Hanoi team have achieved outstanding results: 100% students won prizes. Specifically, students from the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School won 3 Gold Medals, 5 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals. During the weekly assembly on Monday October 8, the school board has praised and rewarded 10 students coming back from IMSO.

IMSO is a competition for students under 13 years of age in order to identify young talents of mathematics and science. In this way, teachers, scientists from different countries have an opportunity to share nurturing methods at primary level, while contestants have a chance to share their cultural knowledge.

Mathematics contestants participate in 3 parts: Short Answers (25 problems/60 minutes); Essay (13 problems/90 minutes) and Exploration (6 proplems/120 minutes).

Commenting on the results of Vietnam team participating in IMSO 2018, leader of Vietnam team, Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, Vice Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hanoi, said that this was the fourth year that Vietnam has participated in the competition and the results were above expectations.

In 2019, Hanoi will host the 16th IMSO. This will be an occasion for teachers, students to learn and exchange experience, knowledge, expertise and life skills.
