This year, competing in the National Student contest's second selection round was a total of Amsers who had excelled in the Hanoi Student contest’s selection round 2020-2021, from the Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Literature, History, Geography, English, French teams of the school. On October 23th 2020, the result of the second round was announced with the Hanoi Education Department’s decision to set up the Hanoi team of gifted students to participate in the 2020 - 2021 National Student contest at the high school level. After 2 rounds, the number of Amser who will be competing in the National Student contest in each team is:

Chemistry Team: 14/18

History Team: 4/18

Literature Team: 7/15

Biology Team: 9/20

English Team: 18/20

Russian Team: 3/12

French Team: 11/15

Chinese Team: 6/6

Computer Science Team: 7/15

Physics Team: 17/18

Maths Team: 10/15

Total: 111/184 students

Especially this year, Amsers take up 94.4% of the Physics team (17/18), the English team has 18/20 students who are Amsers, making up 90% of the team. Of the whole city, 13 schools participated, of which there are 4 schools for the gifted and 9 regular schools.

On the afternoon of 27/10/2019, the ceremony to announce the establishment of the city's Team to participate in the National Student contest took place at the 700-seat hall of Hanoi - Amsterdam High school for the Gifted. Out of 184 students attending the National Student contest, Hanoi - Amsterdam High school for the Gifted is the unit that had the largest number of candidates to participate in the Team, with 111 students.
