Witness the success and great progress of IJSO Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted from 2017 to 2019: Every effort is paid off

In the last three years attending the IJSO International Young Science Olympiad from 2017-2019, the Hanoi delegation representing Vietnam has achieved countless brilliant achievements, including the huge contributions of the IJSO team of Hanoi -  Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. With endless effort and whole-hearted instructions from the teachers, students from the IJSO team of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted have achieved a great number of prizes, writing their names in the golden book of achievements of the school.

The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is a prestigious and meaningful knowledge competition for 15-year-old students, encouraging them to gain early access to practical science knowledge and to nurture future scientific talents. In 2017 - the 14th organization of the competition in Arnhem, Netherlands, with 2 silver and 3 bronze medals, the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted has won five of the six prizes of the Vietnamese delegation. Specifically: Luong Hien Nga (class 10 Chemistry 1) and Do Cao Minh Chau (class 10 Biology) won two Silver medals. In addition, three contestants from class 10 Chemistry 1 including Nguyen Duc Hieu, Le Hoang Minh and Tran Khanh Vy brought back three Bronze medals for the delegation.


The outstanding faces of the 2017 Vietnam IJSO team 

Continuing the resounding victories of the previous olympiads - the 15th Olympiad held in Botswana, all 6 out of 6 prize-winning students of Vietnam team were talented warriors coming from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. In the individual competition, the team outstandingly won 4 gold medals (including Nguyen Manh Quan, Vu Quynh Chi, Nguyen Tran Mai Phuong, Nguyen Le Thao Anh) and 2 silver medals (Tran Dinh Quan and La Trieu Duong). Moreover, Nguyen Manh Quan has won 2 silver medals for best individual performance in the theory test. In addition, the team of 3 students Nguyen Le Thao Anh, Vu Quynh Chi and La Trieu Duong has won a gold medal for Best Practice Team Prize. It was these very proud results that helped the Vietnamese team win the Bronze Medal in the Best National Prize.

Recently in the last month of 2019, in Qatar, Vietnam team burst with joy when the names of all 6 students representing the delegation were honored in the Closing and Awarding Ceremony, 5 of which were from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. Specifically, the achievements of the school team in 2019 include all 3 Gold Medals (including Dam Gia Bao, Cao Thuy An and Nguyen Tri Duc) and 2 Silver Medals (Dang Minh Trung and Nguyen Hoang Trung). With the best efforts of the whole team, IJSO Vietnam team in general and Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted have achieved high results after 9 years of taking the exam.

After months of hard working and preparing for this international-level exam, the results that IJSO Vietnam team has achieved were entirely what they deserved for all the time and effort that the team put in the competition. The achievements over the years of 2017-2019 will be a solid premise and a great motivation for the next generations of students to continue to promote and achieve more excellent results.
