Being one of the most interesting annual events, Orientation Day has been long awaited by every newcomer of Hanoi-Amsterdam. It is also one of many pre-events taking place in the afternoon of August 19th, leaving new Amsers of batch 16-19 with impressive and unforgettable memories of the school.

Orientation 2016: Finding Ams

Orientation is an introductory event aimed at new 10th-graders. It is organized by the Student Council consisting of many students from batch 15-18, 14-17 and even graduated ones. The orientation took place at 13h30 in hall A; colorful ribbons were distributed, and 15 groups were then formed accordingly. After that, organizers and collaborators led students to the Study Room, the Geography Room, the Tradition Room, the Students’ Union Room, and the Extracurricular Activities Room. Here, guess speakers including graduated Amsers talked about every aspect of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School so as to inspire the love for the school where newcomers are to study the next 3 years.

In the Study Room, students were given the opportunity to hear older ones with excellent study records share their experience concerning national as well as international exams and answer questions raised by the students themselves. On the other hand, in the Extracurricular Activities Room, students were introduced to every major events taking place in the school year – especially NHAT – to gain a better knowledge of every club, to acknowledge how to balance between extracurricular activities and curricular ones, and to then enjoy fascinating performances from some art clubs. Moreover, approaching the Students’ Union Room, students were acquainted with the work of Students’ Union at Ams. They were also familiarized with the history of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School (NHAT, logos of every major, and the like) in the Tradition Room. As for the Geography Room, newcomers were helped with the overall geographic aspect of the school.

… and not hesitant about asking questions.

At the end of event, Amsers batch 16-19 must have found their own Ams. Orientation 2016 has helped students explore every piece of Ams and bridge the gap between themselves and Ams as well as between graduated Amsers and new ones.

Club Fair 2016: Hawaiian Party

With the theme “Hawaiian Party”, the club Ams Advisor provided Amsers batch 16-19 with an exciting “feast” of all clubs. Club Fair is an annual event organized by Ams Advisor in the hope of giving students a general knowledge of the wonderful extracurricular activities at Ams and somewhat better acquainting them with a whole new environment. Taking place in hall B – C at 14h30, Club Fair has truly liven up Orientation Day with inspiring performances, lively booths, and the high spirits of students batch 16-19.
