"The feet walking on the way paved by roses are  also hurt by their thorns." Success doesn't come without any costs, people on the pursuit of their dream must always be faced with countless difficulties and challenges not only from the outside but also within themselves. And for Pham Huy Hoang, 12th Physics 2 student in Hanoi - Amsterdam high school for the Gifted , the way reaching out for the 2017 Olympia laurel wreath is no easy journey.

For three years of study under the roof of Hanoi - Amsterdam high school , Hoang has always been referred to as a quiet and reserved person. Hoang personally  shared his quite "shy" past but after a long period of contact as well as experience with friends, teachers, he was sure to open his heart, to be remarkably more sensible and mature! For Hoang, "Road to Mount Olympia" is not simply a contest, it is a passion, a strong desire to conquer nurtured since the 9th grade. Throughout his 3 years, Huy Hoang has enriched his knowledge from  learning in class as well as researching individually to better understand concepts, social issues ... He even designed a  set of questions himself to be well-prepared for the competition. With careful self-training and admirable patience, Hoang managed to perform exceptionally well throughout the competition, achieving top scores in all three rounds: 280 in the Weekly round, 340 in the Monthly round and 330 in the Quarter round.

Looking at the achievements that Huy Hoang has realized, few could have known in  the first stage to participate in the contest, Hoang confronted a lot of difficulties and anxiety. Among a series of candidates for the "Road to Olympia this year," Hoang almost missed the applying opportunity because of someone from the same school who have already registered and have to wait a long time before of being chosen. Happily smiling, overcome the mental pressure, with all the ability and passion, with the support  of family and school, Huy Hoang has calmly and confidently  substantiate opportunities he really deserves!

Following up on his journey to Olympia, Le Manh Cuong, 12 Physics 2 teacher, said: "To me, Huy Hoang is always a mystery. On the outside, Hoang is always quiet and secretive, but on the inside there is  great exertion and aspirations that amazes everyone. In the process of taking part in the "Road to Mount Olympia", he and his family had a general session to revise the knowledge that he has learned and collected himself. In addition, Hoang also actively contacts other subject teachers to cultivate themselves. I always appreciate your self-study, self-esteem especially the calm and stable style during the competition. "
