Attending the ceremony were Politburo Members, Provincial Party Secretary, Truong Thi Mai - Head of Central Commission for Mass Mobilization, our country’s Vice President, Nguyen Thi Doan -  Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, Phung Xuan Nha - Minister of Education and Training, together with the representatives of Ministries, Commissions, Departments’ leaders.

Delivering her speech at the ceremony, Mrs. Truong Thi Mai sent her congratulations to the honored students on this occasion, and, at the same time, highly appreciated the huge contributions of the beloved Teachers.

According to Mrs. Mai, the honorable students being praised were the best students of the school, native soil and Viet Nam. The excellent results which they had achieved were prideworthy.

“Your responsibilities are to use the precious time of youth, try your utmost with fiery passion, become helpful citizens with the Country, especially become scientists effectively contributing to the development and prosperity of humanity”, Mrs. Mai said.

Also at the ceremony, Mr. Phung Xuan Nha - Minister of Education and Training praised the International Biology team for having outstanding achievements and coming in the first place among 5 other International teams in 2018.

“The impressive achievements today have reflected the efforts of Teachers and students of our nation. To gain those excellent result, in addition to the efforts of the students themselves, we have to acknowledge the merits of the Teachers who have wholeheartedly taught, selected, trained the teams to attend the Olympics, International Science and Engineering Fair” - Mr. Nha said.

At the aforementioned ceremony, Mrs. Truong Thi Mai - Head of Central Commission for Mass Mobilization and Minister Phung Xuan Nha awarded Third class Labour Order signed by Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh to 2 students who had had notably impressive achievements: Nguyen Phuong Thao and Pham Duc Anh (High School for Gifted Students).

Besides, 8 students achieving International Gold Medals were granted Prime Minister’s Certificate, 26 students achieving International Silver Medals and Bronze Medals were granted Minister of Education and Training, 33 students performing excellently in studying and achieving high prizes in Olympics, ISEF 2018 were granted Secretariat Member of Party Central Committee’s Certificate, 15 teachers who had achievements for cultivating national teams were also granted Minister of Education and Training’s Certificate.

8 students accomplishing International Gold Medals were given Prime Minister’s Certificate.

8 students accomplishing International Gold Medals and Silver Medals were given Minister of Education and Training’s Certificate.

33 students having excellent performance in studying and accomplishing high prizes in Olympics .

15 teachers who had achievements for cultivating national teams were also given Minister of Education and Training’s Certificate.

At the 2018 International and Regional Olympiads, Viet Nam have 7 regional and international student delegations (including the Physics and Computer Science delegations participating in Asia-Pacific Olympiads, 5 delegations attending International Olympics with 23 participants in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science).

The Vietnamese delegations have brought brilliant achievements to the country all delegations attending which had contestants winning Gold Medals and 100% participants winning Medals (13 Gold, 14 Silver, and 11 Bronze) had left great impression in the hearts of friends from countries from all over the world, were highly appreciated by public opinion.

Especially, the student delegations taking part in International Biology Olympiad had had the the greatest accomplishment of all time. Nguyen Phuong Thao - a student of High school for Gifted Students, Hanoi University of Science, Vietnam National University had the highest total grades among 261 contestants, was honored the first winner. This was also the first time Vietnamese national teams joining the International Biology Olympiad had the highest grade in the contest.

Besides, at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) 2018 taking place in United States, the Vietnamese delegations had sufficiently and positively participated in the activities which contributed to the success of the Competition, were greatly appraised by international friends and were 1 of 43 with projects winning the contest.
