20/10 – A memorable experience to class 10A1

“This is the result of two “diligent” weeks at netrooms.” Although the 13 boys of class 10A1 don’t have the advantage in terms of quantity compared like science class boys, they didn’t let 28 girls of 10A1 class down. In fact, they stupefied us all on the national women’s day – 20/10.

Unlike the usual science, 10A1’s room C301 was filled with light from 6.30 am. At 7 am, every single window was decorated with colorful balloons and all chairs and desks were neatly arranged in order to give room for the performances after the saluting flag session.

After the school’s weekly activities and saluting flag session, all the 28 girls of class 10A1 came back to class, unaware of the surprises lying ahead for them. Our first impression upon entering the class was the funny and cute line written on the green board by the boys. Without hesitation, anyone had to admit how skillful and creative the boys were.

Throughout the previous week, whenever the school bell rang, boys of class 10A1 -from the “grassroots” to the Union Secretary - all went to net rooms. Until previous the Saturday (18/10) when representatives of 10CE had given flowers to the girls of the grade 10, 10A1 girls felt a little bit upset as they saw no signs from the boys. Yet, nobody realized that under the cover of “going to net rooms, a very cute plan was meticulously prepared.

Eventually, thanks to their careful preparation and unique ideas, 13 boys of class 10A1 drove all the girls from one surprise to another.

The program began with the Uptown Girl/ Suit and Tie staged and choreographed by the boys. All the girls felt so excited as never before had they seen the often-casually dressed-boys in gracious and special suits. In particular, there was also a boy who “sacrificed” himself for art, dressing up as an affected girl just to make the girls laugh.

After the impressive opening,  the boys moved to other activity which was giving the girls unique spiritual gifts as bright roses. The activity went like this: 13 pieces of paper with 13 different actions inside which were prepared in advance would be picked up by 28 girls and each selected boy would have to do the action written on the paper as well as give flowers to the girl who picked up that piece of paper. All the actions were very cute, ranging from “feeding”,  “complimenting”, “singing” to “hugging”, “holding in arms”.

Accompanied by the cute gift-giving session  were many melodious musical repertoires, too.

The gentle, affectionate “Autumn of Hanoi”

The familiar “Canon in D”

The deep “Timeline” performance

As the gift-giving section ended, all the boys stood up to give their sincerest wish to the girls as well as Ms. Đinh Hoàng Ngân – Head teacher of class 10A1 and all the parents in the class parent committee - who made a significant contribution to the success of the performance.

Roses and cakes made by the boys themselves

Though the celebration seemed to end, the boys indeed made a last small surprise with the handmade cakes of their own. “ Though the cakes’ form may look not really pretty, we tried them and they tasted good. We hope that you guys also agree with us.”

Without big stage or sparkling lights, without a large “force”, 13 boys of class 10A1, 13 precious items of the class created a really meaningful, affectionate and heartwarming celebration for all of the 28 girls of 10A1 class.

On behalf of our class’s girls, I would like to thank you guys for all the unique performances, fragrant roses, the lovely gifts and the amazing cupcakes you made on your own. Above all, you guys made us feel that we were so special today.  You guys also successfully brought all members of our class closer together.

Moreover, I would like to thank Ms. Đinh Th Hoàng Ngân and all parents of class parents committee for helping the boys make such a wonderful day despite the fact that 20/10 was also your day. On the national women’s day 20/10, I wish you health, happiness and success in life.
