THE WELCOMING CLASS COMPETITION: A GREEN STUDYING ENVIRONMENT
With a view to organising an activity for the Tree - planting Tet in the spring days full of vitality, heading towards the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26th, 1931 - March 26th, 2021), the Executive Committee of the School’s Union has initiated the “Welcoming Class Competition" to every Youth Unions and Detachments of the school.
“Welcoming Class Competition” is not only a competition between the classes, but also an opportunity for students to express their affection and spend time taking care of their second home. The competition has been enthusiastically supported by teachers, parents, and especially students after it started.
Classrooms become more vibrant and colourful with unique decorative ideas. Small corners of the class are meticulously taken care of and studying spaces are adorned with green plants and flowers, making the atmosphere become as refreshing as ever.
A neat, clean and fresh classroom will bring a more focused studying environment, reducing the stress and pressure, improving studying quality, and creating a comfortable space not only for the students but also for the teachers.
Being able to clean and decorate their own classrooms makes students feel more responsible for their studying space, raises their environmental awareness and cultivates their love for nature, making them cherish the smaller things around them.
In this competition, the tenth-graders had a quite special performance with novel ideas. For example, the 10 Informatics Class had a fascinating presentation on the “Memoryzone”, “Sweet Garden”, “Line Green”, “Handmade Trees” and “Fresh Space”, successfully expressing the student’s love and care for their classrooms; or the 10 Literature Class with a soft, light, delicate but also rejuvenating way of decorating flowers. The 11th and 12th graders also participated enthusiastically in the contest, bringing a new and refreshing air into the classrooms.

The beautiful plants and flower vases, although small, have revitalized and added more colours to the classrooms. Having the opportunity to study in such wonderful atmospheres, students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted promise to attain more and more success in upcoming competitions, becoming prospective seeds for the future society.
