Post by: trangtrang | 23/08/2018 | 144 reads

In the academic year 2018-2019, the Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted is for the first time welcoming students to the baccalaureate degree program - a program joining the Vietnamese Dual Degree with A-Levels (UK). Studying in a top school in Vietnam, the bachelor's degree students will have the opportunity to develop and enhance many abilities in a variety of fields.

With the aim of providing students with an education of international standards, access to the world's leading learning methods and also a more affordable option for students who wish to study abroad, the high school diploma program has received wide recognition and attention from  many parents. The program effectively coordinates and balances the high school curriculum in Vietnam and the UK A-levels program. Additionally, in partnership with the Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the pilot baccalaureate program is the British University Vietnam. Provided with the best in terms of facilities and quality of education, the first batch of dual degree students from the Hanoi - Amsterdam High School are believed to will have many achievements in the future.

Being part of the baccalaureate class, and the great family of Hanoi -Amsterdam, is a prideful as well as precious opportunity for the students to constantly strive for success. Through the first days of studying in the program, Nguyen My Tran, a student from the Cambridge class, shared:

"After more than a month of studying in dual degree program (DDP) at the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School, I am really impressed with many things here. First of all, this learning environment is very new to me,  as I am studying a lot of new subjects, with knowledge quite different from that gained from the usual curriculum, such as Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Business. In addition, native teachers as well as teachers in the country are extremely understanding and tend to give us the opportunity to study in the best environment,  while regularly applying technology to their lessons and helping us students with any kind of problem. What impresses me most are the students, the ones who would accompany me through my high school years. Our DDP class is does not specialise in a specific subject, but we focus on a combination of many different ones. One class has students who excel in many different subjects. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and all of us have been trying to help each other overcome the weaknesses and develop each of everyone's strengths.”

Even though the DDP is still a relatively new studying program in Vietnam, but My Tran has her own reasons for choosing it: “It was difficult to find motivation and make decisions regarding this change. A large part of my motivation was my family,  as my parents wholeheartedly encouraged me to join this program. However, I myself has the more control over this decision. To be honest, I much prefer sciences to social studies. Which is why I am really excited to learn that I will be studying science subjects in English. In addition, joining this program also creates a wider, more welcoming opportunity for me should I wish to study abroad with the A-Levels degree. After all, however, the biggest reason I chose to join this program in the last minutes is because I like taking risks. I want to try and venture out to a completely new territory here at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School (as well as in Vietnam), all the while striving to be the first DDP class to make history at this school.”

With the pride and aspiration of an Amser, the bachelor's degree students are  constantly cultivating and developing their skills, as well as making the most of the opportunities that they are offered. In the future, we hope that the Amsers of the Dual Degree class will contribute to the lengthening list of achievements of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, by working hard to become revered individuals.
